Kerala has a reputation as an expensive destination. But underneath the luxury surface is a state with excellent public transport, affordable homestays and street food that costs under ₹100 for a full meal.
Accommodation: ₹500–900/night
In Munnar, guesthouses start at ₹500. In Alleppey, staying in town and taking a day cruise cuts accommodation to ₹600. KTDC hotels in most destinations: doubles from ₹700.
